More domestic lists
Oct. 15th, 2010 04:13 pmPresumably these will go away again when I feel like I'm on top of things
Edit:
I forgot that I also climbed up on the stool to put spare boxes of teabags on the high unreachable back shelf of the pantry, to free up space lower down.
- Emptied, refilled and ran dishwasher
- Emptied, refilled and ran washing machine, twice
- Hung one load of laundry
- Sorted Emer's drawers and took out the summer things I don't want her wearing in cold weather
- Cajoled both children into getting dressed, in in-use clothing instead of absolutely fresh, for a change. I hate washing worn-once clothes.
- Polished bathroom taps again
- Cleared and wiped only enough of the dining table to eat from
- Cooked porridge
- Made couscous and sandwiches for lunch
- Got photos in the post; glued them into a scrapbook with info about who is in which photo and when it was from. Added two from the walls. Labeled the scrapbook "cousins" and hope sincerely that I can put dates on photos we receive in future, now that we have somewhere to keep them. Mind you, the children have seven cousins and only have photos of five of them, but I think I have at least one other cousin's photos somewhere, if I look. I might need to download them from Facebook - but I disapprove of Facebook photos in general, yuk. I also want to make a scrapbook for Friends where they can have photos of Oyster and Feaster and Charles and The Baby Across The Road What Isn't A Baby and so on. Dated photos are more important to children than I realised.
Yesterday I emailed a sister; today I got a response, which is lovely. It's difficult to maintain any kind of familial interactions in my family, let alone cordial ones. I must SMS another sister or two today. It always makes me anxious and sweaty though. - Read the Five in a Row book and showed the children shadows - they already knew how they work - and refraction - GOD mum we KNOW all this it's BORING - and levers - oooooooh, moving things. Moving BIG things. EASILY. Hmm. Was I wise?
- Did some basic writing stuff with Emer, whose lower-case e is coming along nicely, though obviously not as good as upper-case E, which can have squillions of lines on.
- Phoned TFC to pay our bulk order bill
