Should I get it serviced? has it always made noise and I never noticed?

I honestly thought I had tinnitus until I realised it was the cooker.

(In other questions, why didn't I take dinner out to defrost yesterday, after Astrid's vaccinations, instead of waiting until this afternoon? we're going to be eating late again).

All the gas hobs I've ever used whistle at a certain pressure. No idea why.

Gas hobs tend to whistle at a particular setting - if you turn it up or down even a tadge it will probably stop.

My partner turned our hobs on and I was planning on using the 'hobs' as a stack for something very cold out of the freezer cos I didn't know she'd turned them on - she said she'd forgot I couldn't hear them...

So yeah think they do make a noise - it's a funny kind of noise.
