Somewhat tired again
Jun. 25th, 2010 09:35 amYesterday Rob came home early - 17:15. Then at 17:30 he locked himself in the spare room for a couple of videoconferencing meetings until 19:00. The children were significantly less than impressed.
But they didn't actually go in, though we had a couple of door-slamming tantrums; I have no idea whether they affected his call quality, because by the time he came out again I was so tired I was crying and bumped into things whenever I stood up.
So he pumped up the big tub and we filled it, which helped a lot with my pain levels and swollen feet, but meant that no other housework got done and the little tidying I did in the kitchen got trashed, and Emer was furious when she had to get out and go to bed. Tired, but furious.
Last night everyone slept much better - though for some reason I kept waking in pools of sweat, which was revolting and means we have to change the bedding again - and this morning was ok until shortly after 7 am, when Emer woke crying for Rob and then screamed blue murder at me for not making him come home until 08:45 when Linnea gave up in disgust and turned the telly on.
Emer has eaten a banana and some oatcakes, and drunk some water, so that will probably help. She was too cross to eat tea while Rob was in the house and unavailable last night, and then after he came out she was too tired and cranky to do more than eat a few bites of my sandwiches, so she was probably very hungry when she woke up.
I'm in less pain this morning than I was last night, and because no-one woke up for ages in the middle of the night I am also a lot less tired. This bodes well, because we don't expect Rob back before 21:00. I'm trying to figure out whether we have time to get a Chinese meal delivered before Linnea has to go to Girls Brigade; a lot of places only open for the evening at 5pm.
