Linnea: So how high do you think I should climb?

Rob: [pause]

Rob: As high as you think you should climb.

(There are no branches for a bit but she can scramble up to a bit with handholds, and after she has a handhold, it's easy going - but some of the branches are rather thin. I've told her that if she falls out and hurts herself she must be sure to scream loud enough that someone can hear her and come to help.)

Apparently branches that are at least as thick as one's wrist should be ok to support one.

6 to 6 1/6 whats?

It's just an easy rule of thumb, I think. Simple for Linnea to understand and use. I wouldn't want to trust anything thinner than *my* wrist. If your wrists ar particularly thick it might be overkill, I don't know.

A girl after my own heart!
At that sort of age I was always climbing stuff (trees, cliffs at Woolacambe Bay, etc)... the trouble was that I used to get stuck up the trees *LOL*
