Linnea spent a lot of today doing nothing at all.

Like, lying on the windowseat, doing nothing. Then I turned on the TV and she lay there and watched TV.

She woke up in a hideous mess, so bad that I threw her underwear in the bin - it was too soiled to go into the nappy bucket. I washed all her bedding and some of Emer's. Then Linnea did nothing. All day.

Until she decided to write a card for a friend (w emust deliver it tomorrow) consisting of both names and a drawing, and then we played with the cuisenaire rods - first we did adding and subtracting and counting and a little multiplying, then we made a picture of a block of flats. Oh, and she did a picture of a wooded landscape all by herself. She doesn't seem to see a difference between one kind of game and another.

At one point today both children were sitting at the table drawing in black biro, singing different songs, quietly and happily. Emer and I did a lot of dancing, too. And Emer is learning to count to three.

And always, always, always the laundry and the dishes.

(In other news, Emer did not nap and has gone to sleep now, after the evening meal; long may it continue).

Can you pm me your mobile number, please? I'm not currently sure when I'll be in Reading on Sunday.

I want a housekeeper for laundry & dishes. I was given a fab A3 sized booklet from RAW at the school last week to do with Kate. They did have them at the library a few months ago, but I wasn't allowed one as they are aimed at families with poor education, which is a bit silly as who is more likely to go in the library? Those with poor education or those who love books & learning?

I dealt with a similar underpants event when a kid I taught, Linnea's age, whose mother really wasn't into "boundaries" and "paying attention" allowed her seven bran muffins for breakfast because "she really wanted them."

Sounds like L's sick, though. :/
