Post 10 things that are going right in your life right now. I don't care how small. You're happy with your cup of coffee. You saw a flock of geese flying over. ANYTHING. Things that make you happy. Things that make you smile. No pressure.

It's small and it's simplistic, but maybe for the time you are compiling your list, you'll forget about the bad going on and focus on something good.

(1) I ate a great dinner.

(2) Rob has learned to cook, almost totally self taught, as an adult. He's very very good at it.

(3) The weather has been excellent for getting laundry dry - clear and sunny during the day, for dryness, and cold and frosty at night, which makes clothes softer.

(4) Emer says "Thag oo mummy" when I do things for her.

(5) Linnea can stop whining at will, and rephrase her request in a way which doesn't make me want to hit someone. All I need to do is point out "Linnea, that was a whine, love." This was really useful today. She had a hard day today.

(6) I was treated to lunch today - dim sum. I never did that before. It was fabulous. Linnea enjoyed using chopsticks, one in each hand.

(7) When I had a freakout over IMPENDING POVERTY DOOM, both Rob and the intarwebs were very comforting. Poverty is not impending, even if I fear it. It takes more than being afraid of something to make it happen to me.

(8) Rob has this incredibly attractive habit of making me a cup of coffee in the morning and putting it in a thermos mug, so that whenever my first chance to drink coffee is, I have a hot cup ready. This is probably the most attractive trait I could look for in a man.

(9) I love my little house, which is easy to keep warm and cosy.

(10) The Steam Fair is coming to town this weekend!

Yay!

(My thing was to say "I don't respond to whining" and the whine would switch off instantly. One day, one of the kids' friends was whining at me, and they said, in stereo, "Aunt San doesn't respond to whining." They were maybe 6 and 7 at the time. I was so proud. ;-)

Number seven is an important thing to realize and I hope to achieve that maturity some day.

Cooking is an important skill, Gödel starved to death after his wife died (he didn't trust food prepared by anyone else, including himself).

I learnt to cook from trial & error & a Delia book. My children will be taught before they leave home, that's for sure! Holly is really good all ready, Kate is only interested in baking so far.
