Heat and Light
Sep. 21st, 2008 08:22 pmMore often than not we are using electric light in some rooms during the day. But we still haven't turned on the heating. I was hoping to wait until the 1st of October. But.
Perhaps we could turn it on just for a bit at bedtime, so that the rooms which have been empty all day aren't so chilly when we're all doing that taking-clothes-off-exposing-skin-to-air-putting-pyjamas-on thing?
Or perhaps that would be silly.

Date: 2008-09-22 07:42 am (UTC)Goodness, I can remember when the central heating was put in, and we went from two fires (living room, dining room) to two fires (living room, dining room) and five radiators (living room [two, it was a big room], dining room, landing and bathroom). Still got frost inside my bedroom window...

Date: 2008-09-22 10:02 am (UTC)We are also trying to wait until October to turn the central heating on. Luckily the new house has lots of windows that face the right direction to catch the morning & afternoon sun, so we get a lot of passive solar heat during the day.
