I have 2kg of marrow and I will stuff it. Probably with beans and lentils and chickpeas and garlic.

I also have two red bell peppers and I will stuff them with rice and things.

I need to work out what to do with quinoa.

And I must bake a cake - probably a Mary Berry's Bara Brith - for the True Food tea party on Tuesday.

And I've ordered half a mutton from Sheepdrove Organic, who have a few things on special - half price chicken, whole and half muttons at bargain rates, etc.

I only hope there's room in the freezer.

OK daft question here. What does mutton taste like ? Is it just a meatier lamb flavour ?

Yes, that can have a taste impact. I am looking at the mutton thinking that it seems to be a really good price for a big chuck of meat.

Basically, yes. It's also a little bit less tender so is good for slower methods of cooking; but not so tough that it needs to have the bejeesus boiled out of it or anything.

Personally I think mutton has more flavour, and prefer it to lamb.

I treat quinoa like I treat couscous. Or rice. I use it also for salads - it's exceptionally good for salads because it holds it's texture without getting hard or lumpy.

You could use the quinoa as a stuffing. It's very nice with cinnamon and dried apricots, and that would go nicely with the mutton too. I use it wherever I have a recipe that calls for couscous or bulgar wheat.

I met some vine leaves stuffed with things including quinoa once, which were very good.
