DWCON.

Ow.

I slipped and fell while carrying Emer at the pool. I stubbed a toe badly while dancing with [livejournal.com profile] k425 and her handbag. I danced for HOURS on a carpeted concrete floor and hurt my ankles. (Incidentally, SO PLEASED with choral Bohemian Rhapsody YESYES). I shimmied so hard I BROKE the belly-dancing costume.

I dismissed unwelcome leerers summarily without fear or flamewar. I prodded Rob out to socialise, though not much came of it and he preferred to swim and sleep. I managed to ENTIRELY AVOID learning about cheap food and drink before I'd wasted money TWICE (fruit and tea, and beer).

Next time: pack lunches, do not buy at hotel. DO NOT walk on eyeglasses in preceding weeks. Sort out reliable child entertainment NOT CRECHE. Buy beer for Chair. Bring pretty clothes. LEARN TO BELLYDANCE. Bring full complement of child medicines. DO NOT HAVE (a) NEWBORN or (b) THRUSH.

Nice to have met you, and I hope I don't fall into the unwelcome leerer category!

It would be great next time if Andy came with me & played with Kate & Holls in the pool while I went to talks etc, but I may just come unaccompanied. I still had a fab time though, just didn't socialise & chat as much as I'd hoped.

Memo to me: bring more nappies than seems reasonable. Bring swimming gear in case optimism strikes. Remember that there is a Boots the Chemist at Birmingham airport.

...you have a belly dancing costume...
...envy...
I did a workshop in Egyptian Dance a few weeks ago, and plan on having another go end of next week.
