Emer is two today, and still two tomorrow. We saw [livejournal.com profile] radegund off on the train, which appeared too crowded to even find her seat reservations, which was sad, because Unny was tired. Can't think why (photos later).

We trailed miserably off - "No bye bye she-she," and "I am missing Oisin, it is sad when people go away." We went to eclectic games with coffee and bagels and looked at more gifts - Christmas and birthday for other people. I now have Plans. And Emer went to the loo. That was exciting for both of us.

After that we went to Specsavers to price up new specs for me. I think they are better value than my previous option, though I am again stuck with child frames, boo hiss. And then on to the Biscuit Tin Cafe for lunch.

We went to the museum, where Emer and Linnea looked at things on every floor (photos later). They also drew pictures. And Emer walked from there to the photo shop to pick up our photos; some to keep and some to send to [livejournal.com profile] radegund.

Then we passed through the main street and Linnea wanted to go on the carousel, so they both went in a car, seated side by side - Emer's first trip on the mewwy go wound! They had a second trip, in a bus, which the nice man didn't want me to pay for, but I insisted, and then they had a final third trip FREE - he was going to give me vouchers for later use if I didn't use the freebie there and then. THREE goes on the carousel on your second birthday! What could be better than that?

And then we passed someone selling funfur snakes on copper wire, so Linnea bought one for Emer, who was in the mei tai on my back and had a whale of a time waving it.

Next was the Hexagon to collect tickets for Linnea and Buttercup to go to see Angelina Ballerina in a real live ballet in September. And then to Moondogs (Boodog) for chocolate cake, squash, coffee, and the jigsaw with a skeleton in it. The music was too loud and there was a slight underwear accident which meant we had to leave sharply and when we came home Linnea was a hideous brat, including hopping across the road instead of walking, which is Not Allowed. So that went badly. But we made up for it afterwards.

And I fell asleep on Emer's bed while apparently reading a book about dinosaurs. I really feel for Radz, who is probably stuck in a ferry queue by now, having been on crowded trains with a baby on her front and a rucksack on her back since just before 10 am. I mean, I know first-hand how rewarding travelling long-distance by train with one big and one tiny small children can be, but it's also very tiring, and we were both underslept.

Unbeknownst to me until I showed her the prints of photos today, Emer has words for BOTH of Radz's sons which are identifiably attempts at their names.

She also hasn't napped, so might go to bed before 11pm for the first time this yearweek. Now that there are no little babies to be woken by a stampeding toddler.

She's so lovely. And she loves me so much.
