Lunchboxes

Long, long ago, when the world was very young, and I only had one daughter, we used to have lunchboxes every day with interesting, filling lunches in them. Then life got more complicated and we stopped making them.

Today I made four lunchboxes in the hope that we will leave the house tomorrow (possible, if my leg cooperates). In varying quantities, they contain:

Cold shell-shaped pasta in olive oil with black pepper
Cold hard-boiled egg
Sliced cucumber
Whole peeled baby carrots (slightly elderly, hence the peeling)
Mini-muffin silicon mold with mayonnaise
Sliced tomato (for me and Rob; the girls don't like it)

Rob said he didn't want a dessert part, which was:

Mini-muffin mold with raspberries and custard
Mini-muffin mold with sliced strawberries (had to be sliced because they, too, were elderly)
A few pieces of crystallised ginger
A few whole cherries, with stems
Handfuls of cashews

I also have a couple of possibly freezer-burnt banana muffins.

I feel almost that I should photograph them. Should I, o grate internets?

I've packed a couple of picnics for me and Oisín recently. They've worked very well, but I've yet to get the quantities right: I'm so paranoid about Not Having Enough To Eat that I end up bringing far too much.

Proper picnic lunches plus box of generic snacks - nuts, raisins, crackers etc - which can be used again tomorrow if not eaten today.

Yes, that's roughly what we've done, except I graze on the leftovers the following couple of days instead. We haven't had two picnics as a chéile so far this year.
