When you are four, some things aren't as gross as they ought to be

While waiting for her sorbet after dinner, Linnea coughed until she brought up her main course. She wiped herself down and ate her sorbet quite calmly.

We have a call in to the doctor for some advice on what we ought to do. I mean, it's "just" a bad cold, but it's not normal for her to sound like Tom Waits and cough herself sick, and it's not normal for Emer only to be able to sleep while actively suckling, and it's not normal for me to be awake all day and all of the night dum de dum de. And it's not normal for Rob to be as he is, either, but he will probably "just get well" since the medicines don't make him sick (this time around, ibuprofen and paracetamol make me sick!) and he gets several chunks of sleep in each night. Last night his longest slot was four hours in a row, but last night was, in his words, "incredibly shit." Most nights he gets more than that.

I am not particularly ill. I can breathe, my cough is minimal, my headache is under control. As long as I keep hydrated and don't take any painkillers I'll probably last to the weekend, when I might get some sleep, if Rob is well by then.

Aww. I really feel for you all at the moment, esp the wee ones. I'm loaded with it too, and was up last night coughing myself sick. It's unbearable for me, an adult, nevermind kids. Luckily I'm the only one with it here, both Ty and my partner seem to have better immune systems than myself. I'm conviced Ty stole mine lol, because I seem to have caught everything going since the day he was born.

Anyways, I'll spare you the anymore mindless drivel. I guess, this comment was just a well wish. Hope you all feel better soon!

Oh, yeah, also meant to say, only thing I've found that helps is my anti-histamines and sudafed decongestants, but I don't think they're safe for kids. :/
