I made a bad loaf of plain wholemeal bread (I really rely on oats to make kneading easier these days) and a good loaf of white and rye. We had leftovers for dinner - second-day curry, which is always better than first-day curry, and stir-fried noodles and sweetcorn.
I did laundry.
I took the now-dry rug I washed a few days ago down and put it on the dining room floor; this was after I'd hoovered the floor and tidied the room. When Rob came home he was a leetle surprised. Emer's delighted to have it back; she dances on it.
I spoke at length to a gardener about our garden and have an idea of how we can tackle it so that it doesn't overwhelm us but it does get done, and without dedicating several entire weekends to it, either.
I brought Linnea to nursery and fetched her home again, with the usual release of pent-up energy. She had an unusually calm day today (also unusually demanding on me and very very unusually amusing) because we had friends over to play with. But she got rid of most of her bounce before Rob came home so she went to bed more or less ok and on time. She really enjoyed herself.
I have no idea why I had two bottles of nailvarnish remover in the house but, well, I don't any more. I have also sorted a box of stuff for the charity shop and will bring it round tomorrow, I hope; tomorrow is also broadly hoped to be post-office day. And food market day. And booksigning day, though it may transpire that I haven't enough of the right books. Oh well; I will figure something out.
So today, after about four hours sleep (most generous possible estimate: four and a half) I didn't kill anyone, did improve the general state of the house, arranged for people to amuse my children even if I didn't do it all myself (not that that would be healthy either, but there are days it's all me me me), and ate three reasonable meals.
We have only bread and cheese for breakfast because tomorrow is food day, but that's ok.
