I celebrated International Women's Day by getting my handbag stolen while I did 3.5 hours' volunteer work. The work went really well.

But now I have no lovely Samsonite ladybird handbag, no red leather Filofax wallet, no Mountain Co-op cycling gloves, no phone, and we had to get the locks changed yesterday evening.

Bah.

Also, I now have no cards to pay for things. Double bah.

oh shit, that's awful. i had my wallet lifted once but i've never lost my whole handbag. i really hope that at least some of your things were left somewhere and they turn up.
poor you. never mind the hassle of getting it all replaced. i don't envy you your monday.

How awful. It has happened to me a few times and I'm never sure whether it is loss or theft. Either way it is just plain horrible.

I hope you cancelled your credit cards quickly.

Suggestion: you need a waist pack or a small, lightweight backpack for going out in public when you are in casual clothes, not "gussied up". It's easier to keep track of things if they are attached to your body!

If you need a phone and aren't in too much of a hurry I can send you my old Nokia 8330. It's locked to Orange but that's easy enough to fix nowadays, and it has a charger and a new battery. I can put it in the post tomorrow.

I'm hoping to call the insurance people tomorrow and see what they can do for me. I also need to call Vodafone but I've been dreading that... Today is not a good phonecall day.
