Several times this week I have been really stunned by the strong, intelligent, wonderful women I know. I wish I'd known you all when I was 15. (I knew some of you, of course!)
I wish I had too, as a teenager. A gift I'm hopefully passing onto my daughters is that they'll be able to talk to my best friends when they are teenagers, if they need to.
This. I think sometimes about the intentional community I am raising my daughter in, and that she'll be able to go to these people for help/advice/assistance years from now, and maybe won't feel as alienated as I did, growing up. (She'll probably just be alienated in a different direction..... "gosh, Mom has such *weird* friends, etc. etc.")
