Well, in spite of nightmares the night before, Linnea slept well last night; a little whimpering in her sleep but nothing terrible. Then Emer slept until 9 am, so so did I. And Rob slept in another room so his snoring didn't bother me. I felt great.

Rob made a cake last night, and I finished it off today - I whizzed raspberries and blueberries (imported, yes, I know) and a banana (they are ALL imported, whatever time of year it is) and used that for filling, and we topped it with (imported) strawberries. We at it for brunch, after the pancakes.

Then for dinner we used our Wagamama vouchers (thanks [livejournal.com profile] baratron and watched Linnea using chopsticks and Emer doing Cthulu with her noodles. They did very well. But I accidentally ate some soya. Ow.

When we came home it was bedtime and I made bread. Well, am still making; it's had knead-prove-knead and is on second proving. Then I'll bake it. Boring plain wholemeal and oats this time.

The other thing I did today was packing. I called people in Ireland to keep arranging things, and packed like billyo. We're almost done. I called the airport to see if there's a size limit on buggies going through; the call-taker was bewildered. "Aren't they a standard size?" he asked. No. They can come small enough to fit in an overhead bin, or large enough that most cars have trouble fitting all the parts in the boot. And then there are the ones which don't fold.

I think for carry-on I'll use Linnea's Samsonite ladybird bag. She likes it, it's a good size, and we can use it for last-minute luggage we forgot earlier.

I do need to get a few 100ml bottles for drinks for the kids. And I must remember to pack straws for Emer.

As yet, we've never had a problem taking *empty* sippy cups through security. I just buy a bottle of water and one of juice of some sort after security and fill them then.

Where are you flying from? My experiences recently have been much better than when the new regulations first came in since the security area was expanded and both staff and passengers were used to everything (mine are Birmingham, which was horrendous the first couple of months, and Dublin).

I suspect whether the airport is allowed to let people have more than one item of carry on is a good rule of thumb as to the likelihood of long queues. Only airports which are not having extensive security delays were allowed to relax the rules.
