A good dinner, and so to bed.

We had rosbif, with potatoes and carrots and parsnips, and nice gravy - wholemeal flour, meat juices - and for dessert we had warm bottled apricots with oat cream.

And there's enough for tomorrow.

And probably enough for a beef pie later. 3lb of meat is a lot, even if Emer is the original carnivore Mark I.

While I was home hoovering, Rob ran errands on the trike, with the girls; they enjoy that, and I quite like not involving them in the cleaning sometimes, though generally they help. It was much faster without them. And cleaner. While Rob was triking he passed Mr Ogden cycling the other way, which was cheering, and Emer had a nap.

Linnea had a pretty good night last night; she woke and came in to us, but there were no nightmares and no protracted periods of wakefulness. Rob slept long before midnight and I slept long after 7 am.

Emer may have said "'tato" during dinner today.

Are "bottled apricots" like canned peaches? Fruit preserved in syrup?

What is "oat cream"?

Basically the same, but we never get the syrupy ones - only the ones preserved in fruit juices without added sugars.

Oat cream is a non-dairy non-soya cream substitute. The one we use is called Oatly and is not produced to Soil Association organic cert standards, but we haven't found one which is. It was the only tut tut ingredient though. The children don't like it much.
