I saw Emer standing up at the edge of the bed. I saw her start to bend forwards. I lunged. I caught the back of her dungarees as her forehead hit the floor but before most of her weight landed, I think. I did not break her larynx with the front of her dungarees. She has a lump and a bruise but no concussion.

This child, however, is the one who hits her head on the floor to get attention, so it's possible that she doesn't feel things like the rest of us do...

Are you OK? (Based on what you said, she is - I'm worried about you, though)

These little ones can give us a start, can they not? And we always seem to wind up the worse for wear. *heh*

I can remember my daughter being barely 18 months old and having a horrific fever. I couldn't get in touch with her ped, so I rushed off the the emergency room. I was standing at the registration window waiting my turn, going back and forth in a rocking motion, when I realized that SHE was patting MY back.

Hope you're both doing OK.

I saw Jack about to fall off our sofa once, and reached out quickly. All I succeeded in doing was providing a pivot for him to turn round, so he ended up going head first instead of (probably) flat-body. Seems to have survived.
