Dried crushed chilis, dried whole chilis, and dried oregano. What would YOU do with them?

That's right, sprinkle them under the beds.

Linnea and I have spent some time cleaning them up and my nose and chest are streaming as a result. I am so angry I thumped the bed while she was under it sweeping. I've locked the kitchen gate. I assume she chose those jars because they were small enough to smuggle out.

Grr.

Nursery wouldn't mind having her this afternoon, but she's not interested in leaving the house. I may interest her anyway. We have to leave later to get Emer's injection whether she likes it or not.

Looking on the bright side, at least they were dry ingredients. Not that that makes it any less naughty of her (or any better for your poor nose), but it could have been a great deal worse to clean up if it had been oil or ketchup...

Kate went through a phase of pouring out soap powder onto the kitchen floor when my back was turned. V infuriating as to why & the waste of money.

Kate went through phases (& still does now) of not wanting to go to nursery as she just couldn't be bothered to get ready really. I just insisted as she was always fine once we were around the corner from the house. Perhaps she felt that Holly was having all the fun with mummy & she was missing out.

Kate hasn't wanted to go to school each morning this week either.

I did where it was possible, some of it had to be hoovered as it was in silly places.

Garlic and exotic condiments

A long time ago indeed (lets say about 1979 or 80), a small girl took a bulb of garlic to school. And peeled it. And left it in the inkwell.

After some time, the garlic was discovered. Since this was such a long time ago, the small girl's mum was (apart from being embarrassed) slightly proud that the small girl concerned had displayed such discriminating taste - garlic was not such a common ingredient in cooking then as it is now.

Nevertheless, the small girl concerned was left with the clear impression that although her parents were somewhat amused, it was definitely not something that should be repeated.

Argh! Poor you! You really must get yourself a decent dust mask, it would help both with the usual dust mite allergy and with noxious chilli powder in the wrong places.

But to put a positive spin on this: if that's the worst thing she ever does in her life, you'll have got off lightly ;)

Also, you'll be able to remind her of this incident at regular intervals in the future: when you meet her teenage partners, at her wedding/civil partnership/commitment ceremony, if she chooses to have kids herself... ;D
