1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
Spent a whole month in bed. Never again, neither.
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't make them, as far as I know.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes! Hurrah!
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Depends on what you mean by close. Too close for comfort.
5. What countries did you visit?
Ireland.
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
Health.
7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
14 July, probably. Death.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting my cert as a BfN Helper?
9. What was your biggest failure?
I'm not doing this. This is SO not a useful question for me, yo.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Yes.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
New, smaller telly? Oh - no - the dining table!
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Rob, and of course both children, but that's automatic, so Rob. And my mother, but that's automatic too.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
This information is released on a need-to-know basis, unless we're talking public figures.
14. Where did most of your money go?
On food, housing, and utility bills.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Um. Mainly, visits to and from friends, and trips camping.
16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
I have no idea.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Sadder, but ask me again in a week.
ii. thinner or fatter? Thinner, but not much! I lost two stone about 51 weeks ago.
iii. richer or poorer? Greater equity, less cash.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Cycling.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Being ill.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
With the in-laws.

Not with any new people, no.
23. How many one-night stands?
None.

QI.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I try not to, but there is someone I'd find it hard not to hurt.
26. What was the best book you read?
A ton of Wodehouse. Oh, I know - Stephen Fry "The Ode Less Travelled" or whatever it's called. Closely followed by Bryson's biog of Shakespeare. Rob is a very clever book-buyer.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I don't think I made any.
28. What did you want and get?
Lots.
29. What did you want and not get?
A way to rewrite history and do it better.
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
I watch very few films and none of them new; the only film I've seen in a cinema since Linnea's birth is Golden Compass.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was 29 and I went to Kew with the children and Kim.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
I wouldn't have known about it, but the deaths on 14 July could have not happened, and that would have made my year immeasurably less tragic.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
At last! I've always wanted to be this way, only I wanted the freedom to do it without reference to ethics. Damn.
34. What kept you sane?
My children.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Oooooooh.

People I'd almost never met.

Very hard to say. I meet a lot of babies, for a start.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007.
Sometimes there is nothing I could have done, nothing I could do. Sometimes it truly is beyond my control. Get out of my head, John Malkovich.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
I can't.
