But I did fix it; the main problem was that the hose was plugged with needles from the Christmas tree, and a subsidiary problem was that the filters were clogged. My nose and chest still hate me.

THEN I was able to tidy and hoover the two downstairs rooms and the hall; Mary was dead impressed when she got here.

Linnea still doesn't want to leave the house; she almost has no cough now but is clearly still convalescent and so, so tired. I'm going a little tiny bit raving mad stuck at home but she really does need to just sit and snuggle a bit.

Today we made a paper chain. I shall have to do more cutting out soon because it's hard on my hands to do it all at once.

People will enthusiastically fill out polls on the oddest things. I must think of some more.

And I must work out how to get knitting into my daily routine. I enjoy it, it's good for me, but I'm very bad about settling in and doing it. Mind you, of late I've had a hard time making myself read anything, so perhaps I'm just too tired.

Yes, I am Absolutely Not Allowed to empty our Dyson. Someone else has to do it for me.

Knitting - for me is an occupation that makes me feel less guilty for sitting watching TV. Don't know whether that is a feature in your life or whether you just don't have time for much of that in any case? I don't think I did much knitting when my children were babies. I'm guessing if you go to a playgroup or Mums and Toddlers group there might be the odd opportunity inbetween interacting with the babies and the mums, but not if, like I used to, you get actively involved in the play!

I knit when watching TV - is that a possibility? Also when just sitting around chatting, but if the kids are around a lot that may not work well for you! Also public transport, but again with the child-wrangling issue.

I knit while reading. Which is no help for you at the moment, since you're not reading much because yes, you're too tired. You've all been ill!

5 minutes a day, in the new year. Or a brief sit down with a HotBrownDrink and the knitting.

I HIGHLY recommend dust masks. Mine is one of the super whizzy £25 jobs that will filter out noxious volatiles in the air & everything, but a well-fitting £3 disposable one will do as long as you keep it clean inbetween wears. (e.g. put it away in a drawer so it doesn't acquire dust on the side that faces you.)
