Rob and I got about 4 hours each last night, well-distributed. Emer's temperature is down a bit today but her cough is up.

I posted two small packets to the US of A, one huge empty box to our meat delivery people (they re-use all their packaging), and a fairly sizable sack to Ireland, with accompanying discussion on "Southern Ireland" with the postie, a nice brown Sikh with some sort of Southern English accent. I find regional English accents hard to place unless they're the commonly used for comic effect ones. He decided, when offered a range of not-incorrect ways to say it, that "just Ireland" is probably easiest.

I also took Emer to the doctor, who says she's getting more than her fair share of the things that are going around but that it's clearly not doing her any harm (except that she hates a cold stethascope [sp? I've changed that several times and lj always says it's wrong]).

And went grocery shopping.

And took Linnea to her nursery.

And am trying hard not to engage in an online argument with someone who has never had a really bad period. "Nothing like labour pain" indeed. Can we all say "Subjective," boys and girls?

Stethoscope. Lj knows nothing of speeling, being USAnian, although goodness knows what being taken over by Russians will do to the spellcheck...

Actually, it probably doesn't know the word at all, since (IIRC) y'all spell it the rite way too (must be an accident).</ducks>

I'm with you on the sleep, I keep seeing little clouds go past my eyes, not sure if they are real or I'm hallucinating.

I can't remember labour pain any more. I have the ghost of a memory of a memory of a memory.

I bet I forget morning sickness in the next year or two.

I've had cramps so bad I paled, sweated and nearly fainted..yet I have a *very* high threshold of pain.

Ah, yes. The "your pain/inconvenience is trifling; only mine is real" fallacy. Often an occupational hazard of management, in my experience. Argh boo.

Grargh. Idiocy. My labour pains were exactly like what I think of as "bad" to "very bad" period pain for all but the final couple of hours. Then they were more intense. But I don't regard myself as having really awful period pain.

Also, wah! Poor, poor girl! Sending waves of wellness south-eastward.

My labour pains were *exactly* like period pains. They got worse than the worst period pain I've had, and they lasted for longer; but I know that my periods are by no means among the Top Painful ones *even though* I have been known to turn literally green from them.

Yeah, mildly inconvenient. Idiots.
