On Monday a nice man brought it back to us. We have the frame, the wheels, and the box. We need to replace the hood, front and rear lights, panniers, baby buggy, locks, and bungee cords. We may need the gears and brakes repaired, and I have a nasty feeling the steering mechanism isn't all it should be. I'm not taking it on the road until Rob has had a chance to cycle it to see if it steers right (if it tries to steer him wrong, he has more chance than I of salvaging the situation). We are in the process of getting insurance sorted out to pay for repairs.

And then I'm going to do damage to our front hedge so that I can park it off the street unaided, and that's what I shall do.

I hope they enjoyed their joyride.

I'm so glad it is back, but I'm so sorry it needs so much work. :-( *Insert rude words here about the joyriders*

Will the insurance cover the stuff that needs doing?

MI hope they enjoyed their joyride.

I don't: I hope they sprained an ankle and barked their shin badly.

Glad you got it back but sorry the gits damaged it.

What sort of rear lights do you need? I have a new Cateye TL-AU100BS going spare if it's any good to you.

Geez. I mean, I'm glad that you got some of it back, but the not-getting-it-all-and-intact-back part sucks. And it sucks that people do these things so often just for kicks, without thinking about the effect on others.

Oh, I'm relieved that you got it back. Pity about all the work necessary; good luck with the insurance and the hedge-damaging.

Oh, gods, what a lot of work. Glad you got it back, nonetheless.
