Well-a-day
Oct. 2nd, 2007 02:36 pmI've cut out circles for hatbrims (see under: Halloween party) and Linnea and I made pancakes. Linnea and Emer painted. I washed the coffee maker (drip-filter thing from Sweden) and ran it through with a full reservoir of water, then made a couple of mugs of coffee in it. I'm delighted; it's delicious, and the hotplate bit means it was hot when I got around to drinking it.
For lunch we had the chicken soup from the slow cooker, made with stock from the carcass from Saturday's roast, a butternut squash from Linda's allotment, and various market veg.
I postponed Emer's nap until after lunch, which was wearing but worthwhile. When she wakes up we need to go out and go to the printer ink shop, the phone shop, and the coffee shop, to get an ink cartridge replaced, my unlocked phone picked up, and some more coffee. I really, really love living in a place with locally owned and run shops.

Date: 2007-10-02 01:52 pm (UTC)I keep forgetting I've got a slow cooker, largely because it's enormous - and after I've used it two or three times my freezer is full of portions of things - but I ought to use it more often.
