Trike stolen again
Sep. 29th, 2007 08:45 amRob and I were woken by noise in the street sometime after 2 am; Rob looked out, and the trike was gone. He phoned the police immediately to report it, and I've just called them back with the serial number (he wasn't hunting that up at 2 am!), and I expect we'll get it back again shortly, because it's too distinctive to sell and anyway if they couldn't get the lock off last time why should they be able to this time? but it's bloody annoying.
Warning: domestic whinge: the original storage arrangement was that Rob would bring it up to lock behind our hedge at night, which I am not strong enough to do without hurting myself. But Rob doesn't do this; he locks his own bike there instead. Clearly I need to change things so that I can get the trike locked to our fixed point myself without hurting myself; I don't know how. All my suggestions have been either shot down, or agreed to and then ignored.

Date: 2007-09-29 09:08 am (UTC)If you can't get the trike to the fixed point, is there any hope of installing another where you can get it to?

Date: 2007-09-29 03:15 pm (UTC)You poor thing. I hope you get it back in better condition than Gareth's car, which was stolen last Sunday. For the story, visit http://mydadsacommunist.blogspot.com/2007/09/as-thick-as-thieves.html
The update is that the car, worth about £500, would cost £5,000 to repair. The mechanic is wriggling hard to escape liability.
