I lose at parenting for real
Jul. 25th, 2007 12:53 pmLinnea has always been able to climb everything and anything. Now Emer, too. It's driving me up the wall. Linnea took the eggs out of the fridge and broke them - she was making egg juice and putting it in a clean milkbottle - and while I was cleaning it up SOMEONE taught Emer to climb the back of the sofa.
Then when I was putting Emer to bed Linnea deliberately took her nappy off and peed on the sofa cushions, so I showered her off and sent her to her room, where she did it again.
I think we can have one more go at cleaning the cushions and then we quit.
And my keyboard viewer for mouseclicking h and p is gone berkserk.

Date: 2007-07-25 02:32 pm (UTC)but seriously, if she took her nappy off and peed somewhere she knew would annoy you, it does indicate that it's something she's pretty angry about, and I'm guessing the most obvious source would be (good old)sibling rivalry. I'm wondering how much extra babying you could fit in with her to make up for having to care for your younger baby? Or whether having someone around to look after Emer for a while while you devote some more time and attention to Linnea might be helpful.
Actually I'm sure you would have thought of that, but I'm guessing that the reality of the situation may affect your thinking. I'm sure you're pretty annoyed with her too right now, for instance.
Advice as ever free, and worth what you paid for it. Hope things settle down between you and your firstborn soon!
