I've just spent most of two hours applauding my laptop, because someone has thoughtfully pirated at least two Bill Bailey videos and put them on Youtube in ten-minute segments. I intend to buy them at the earliest opportunity. I don't even know who Kraftwerk are, and I'm still hiccupping with laughter five minutes after it finished.

Oh, please don't tease!

(I love Kraftwerk, and want to know about Bill Bailey.)

Kraftwerk are a German experimental electronic group who've been around since the 1970s. Here's an example.

Bill Bailey was absolutely spot on.

Oh, that's priceless! *giggle*

Bill Bailey didn't really use proper old-fashioned analog synthesisers and it sounds a bit "modern" as a result, but the general impression is charmingly Kraftwerkesque anyway! Nice find!

I'd noticed the youtube had an entire episode of his 1998 'is it bill bailey' a while ago, which included his reinterpretation of the Doctor Who music as Belgian light jazz ('Doctor Qui'). Google video has a fan video of Bill Bailey's 'Insect Nation' and there are some misc odds and ends at:

oh, the Kraftwerk bit! So funny. I know who they are because I read an article in the Big Issue about 8 years ago, but I've never heard them - still makes me laugh.

Bill Bailey rules, he's so funny. I can never get his Kraftwerk out of my head afterwards.
