Happy new year
Jan. 1st, 2007 10:03 pmI saw in the new year by sticking another chunk of medical wax and paracetemol up my daughter's poor tiny bottom, then lying in bed as her father paced her around the house. The fireworks stopped her getting back to sleep and her crying stopped anyone else sleeping, too. Still, it all died down eventually and I came some way towards catching up on my deficit. I can still see it high-tailing it towards the dawn though.
Today everyone is much better. Linnea and Mum have both taken an expectorant, Mum had a bath, Linnea and Emer have shared a bath, everyone ate (Rob cooked a lovely dinner of salmon, peas and potatoes), and Rob did laundry - three loads at the laundrette take 2h30m total, in the middle of which he went to the open pharmacy and found that they have no suppositories in stock. There'll be more things open tomorrow though. I also sorted all the clothes I am not wearing these days, due to weather or whatever, so my wardrobe rail is much, much less densely packed.
Tomorrow Mum needs to investigate whether she'll stay longer or not. The piano tuner is coming. Mum and I need to go to town to look at tables - she measured several for me, and one gateleg is apparently only 16" wide when small, so that's interesting - and buy a birthday present for a three-year-old, and in the evening we're all going to go to The True Food Co-op, which is run by the guy who used to deliver my vegetables. He was lovely - even gave us a wedding card and often stopped for a cup of herbal tea.
Wednesday - well, either Mum is going or she isn't. Thursday - no plans. Friday - a small meeting in a house instead of the usual home ed meeting. Saturday - Farmer's Market. Sunday - a birthday party. Monday - Rob back to work, and the cleaning lady comes again! Hurrah!
