Today I was feeling pretty defeated even before Emer's nappy exploded all the way up to the back of her neck and through two layers of clothing, so we didn't go to ERAPA. Instead we stayed home with the telly, two Crusie novels, the last of the Hotel Chocolat batons (thank you to the generous donor of those!), tea, and the sling. Emer refused to nap anywhere but on me, but since I wasn't going anywhere that was ok.

This evening we shopped in Waitrose and Linnea fell asleep in the trike on the way home. I think we're about sorted for warm winter wrappings for the kids now. I just need to remember face cream to protect the uncovered parts of their faces. And lip balm. Going from cold to warm is hard on lips.

Tomorrow I go to play with contact lenses.

Oh, since you mentioned the trike I have an excuse to jump in - could you tell me about how you're fastening Emer in? I really, really want to get a child-carrying trike (probably a Nihola, as they seem to have the most hill-friendly gear system) when the new baby comes along, but there doesn't seem to be anything definitive about seating a pre-sitting baby. Is she just in a car seat loose in the box, or is it fastened down?

And I empathise with the bad, defeated day. I've had a couple of those this week.

Ah, thanks. So I'd probably need to get a strap fitted, as it's likely to be me piloting the offspring by myself.

That reminds me...

Must get my lenses checked, have you had them before? If not do try the gas permeable ones, they're not as hard as they make out, are cheaper and better for your eyes (evangelising over).

Jenny Crusie is wonderful.

Do you mind if I ask what ERAPA is?
