This is about enough. I don't want to go to bed before Rob and Emer do in case I die. Um. That's insane. I must talk to the health visitors tomorrow.

Also, in this icon I look very like Number Three Daughter, G, whereas normally I look like my aunt Emer.

*hug* - there certainly isn't any obvious connection between the two halves of the statement - was it a briefly transient inexplicable feeling, or what?

appropriately calm, serene music can be very helpful

You are not at all likely to die soon.
(Does that help?)

Please do talk to someone as soon as you can. It's not insane, it's depressed. I've BTDT, and know the difference.

It is obvious that you have tried very hard to keep busy and cheerful, but it doesn't seem to be working completely. Your hormones are ruling you. You have my sympathy and concern. Please keep posting and let us know how you are. We care.

You're not insane, I have absolute conviction of that, from the way you're writing.

You're probably beyond exhausted, possibly depressed, and certainly in need of more support than you're getting, but you're perfectly sane.

*much hugging*

I would certainly recommend having a good long chat with the the health visitor. I've felt like that before, for long periods of time, when I've been preoccupied to the point of obsession with death, and dying, and I didn't want to let anyone I loved out of my sight for fear of what might happen them. When I start to feel like you describe in the first paragraph, I'm hitting a depression. As you've just had a baby, have a toddler, Rob is working all hours and you're exhausted, you do want to keep a close eye on your mental health.

*hugs* (As an aside, i love the icon - fantastic shirt!)

You don't sound insane, but you do sound rather seriously depressed. Please do talk to the HV, and consider seeing your GP too. And tell Rob to get his &*^$£ priorities straight, from me, please?

What she said. A lot of your depression is probably externally caused (no support apart from a chronically overworked husband!), but still, you need help.
