I have lost my glasses. The children managed to turn the telly on this morning so Linnea is really cranky. They can get their own breakfasts but have inherited a desire to use so much milk on their cereal that the bowl is half-full when they finish; I find the waste infuriating. I have also scrubbed the damn toilet again which is always good for my temper.

If anyone can suggest where in the house I ought to look for my glasses before leaving to have blood drawn for half a dozen tests I'd be most grateful.

Still, at least I should get a lot of laundry dry today, it's lovely weather.

All places you would normally put them down for a while. Following list assumes you wear them all the time, not just for specific activities eg reading, computer, etc. so add or subtract as needed: Nightstand (or wherever you put them when you take them off at night), bathroom shelf/countertop/whatever (when showering), wherever you sit to apply make-up or skincare stuff (if relevant), kitchen (if you happened to do something that would cause them to fog up). Additional question: did you do anything for which you *don't* need them and that may result in them getting damaghed?

The milk thing bugs me too. Fa always puts too much milk on, let alone the children! I'm starting to wonder if I could make something with it, I dunno, rice pudding or something...

I'm one of those people who not only drown their cereal in milk, but carefully strain each mouthfull so that it contains only soggy cereal and no actual liquid milk at all. So my bowl is always full at the end. Evil!

Re, glasses: look in the laundry basket.

Places to look for glasses: near the bed, under the bed, on the kitchen counter, on the bathroom sink, on the floor by the sink, on top of the fridge, in the glasses-case where the glasses are supposed to live.

Gabriel Garcia Marquez said that things are lost when they are in a place one does not expect to find them. That's why one of the suggestions for the glasses-finding is 'in the case'.

Was it a fasting blood-test?

Well, my glasses turned out to be under the bed this morning. I found them by first looking for the rather large book I'd set them down with.

We all drink the left-over milk, straight from the bowl.

Robin always puts what seems to me to be far too much milk on his cereal but since he always eats it I can't really complain. Until fairly recently Theo didn't take milk on cereal at all and even now he only asks occasionally and then gets given the smallest amount I can get away with as I think he has some form of intollerance. He never took to milk other than breastmilk although he does have yoghurt and cheese. If he has too much unmodified milk his stools are just awful.

We always drank the cereal-milk when I was small. Mostly straight from the bowl, but poured into a glass works, too -- I remember this being done, but I don't think it was for me.
