We are all home and well, and I am still too tired to write the birth story up :) Hardly surprising, given how ill we were before going in.

I'm very happy. Rob's very happy. Linnea's very happy ("Where's my baby sister? I NEED him!") and Emer's very happy. My mother's very happy - I can hear her singing to Emer now.

Birth went well, healing is going well, Emer came out of the oven fully cooked and ready for the universe, feeding is going well - tandem feeding coming soon to an icon near you - and I have plans for getting involved in a group aiming to improve maternity services in the hospital where I delivered both times.

Emer has HAIR. And is unfeasibly tiny. 7lb 2.5 oz is a lot lot smaller than 9lb 14oz. She's 1.5oz bigger than I was.

Oh, and this time? Her first bowel movement was passed outside the womb, so we got to see it. Wow. (She also peed all over the obstetrician; ob said "She just weed all over me!" and I said "Good girl!" for some reason.)

7lb 2.5oz is tiny! That is smaller than both my younger two were when they came out.

I am so, so happy that you are all happy. And can't wait to hear more when you are up to it and have time. :-)

And I am looking forward to seeing the tandem feeding icon! :-D

She's even tinier than Liam - he was 7 lbs 10 oz. Although he dropped down to nearly 7 because of his slow start on nursing.

Oh, and congratulations, of course. I'm so happy that things went well for all of you. The day that you posted your last post I was thinking about you all day and talking about it to both my husband and a coworker. "She said the birth was like a party. Most people like parties, so that's probably a good thing. I really hope so!"

"She said the birth was like a party. Most people like parties, so that's probably a good thing. I really hope so!"

That was my reaction too. I found myself desperately trying to remember the conversation we'd had about Myers-Briggs personality types (many years ago) and whether Ailbhe was introverted or extroverted :)

It's good to hear you're all so happy! I think "Good girl" is a good response to your child peeing on a doctor when the child isn't that old... (I also found it very funny when a friend gave his daughter one of her first baths and she peed and pooed on him in about 10 minutes.)

*hugs*

Really glad you're home fine, and that all's well. Emer sounds lovely and Linnea seems to have taken her in her stride.

I thought I'd commented on this yesterday...

Happiness to you all for the safe arrival of baby Emer!

I love the fact that Emer peed on the obstetrician - you'd think they'd have learned to duck!

I was five and a half pounds at birth and jaundiced, I don't think it stunted my growth. My siblings were 6lb and 6.5lb.

I am *so* glad it all went well, I can't say. *hugs* and more *hugs*. This is very happy news, thank you so much for passing it on.
