Although I am a lot less bored being responsibly in bed when Linnea's not around than when she is, it's still not very exciting. I've also grown really tired of managing the rectocele and the bump and the SPD when I need the loo. Humpty Dumpty needs some putting back together still.

However, staying in bed for long periods is paying off; I am in much less pain at the end of the day than I was last week, in spite of being in more pain in the mornings. Er. That is, my base level of pain has gone up, but the rest in the daytime means that my peak pain levels is lower.

My sinuses are still a horrible gungy mess, and I've decided that if they're still like this on Friday I will have to go to the doctor and see if I need antibiotics again because I'm not sure about the implications of having a sinus infection when I go for a c-section, and this one is beginning to make me cough and wheeze, too. I'm drinking gallons of hot drinks, which helps as long as I'm drinking them, and spending a fair bit of time slightly deaf.

We have yet to move bedroom furniture to accommodate the moses basket, pack the hospital bag (memo to self: buy maternity pads and big knickers without a support panel), launder the baby clothes and nappies from the attic, and buy some sleepsuits, of which we have none smaller than 3-6 months, because Linnea was so big and we passed on so much of what she outgrew in her first month.

We have sorted out all the smallest clothes from the boxes of outgrown clothes, brought the bedding down from the attic, bought the smallest size of Moltex Oko cloth nappies, bought me pyjamas with a nice high maternity waistline which won't hurt my scar, and explained to Linnea that we can't get the baby out yet but we will soon. She's pretty keen.

I'm glad you're able to keep posting updates. How do you manage that?

It sounds like mostly staying in bed is the right thing, although I bet that's hard. I wonder if being horizontal is making your sinuses worse?

Is it still horribly hot where you are?
