That's what I thought. Jack is 2anahalf and counts to 3. Like this: One, three, one, three. He _used_ to count to 6, always missing out one or more of 2..5, but hasn't bothered much lately.

I don't know - she *may* be counting back to seven again. She *did* make me count all the Mister Men on the back of a book recently (40-something I think), because she was incredibly impressed with More numbers Than Ten. She does understand counting up to ten, though she's less confident after five - up to five she will reliably count items and announce "total items", IYSWIM, whereas although she can point and count up to ten, she isn't always sure that the last number is the correct total.

If I *did* more counting with her I'd know, I suppose, but I have this fear of pushing her in provable academic achievements, because it's really, really tempting.

I can't wait for tomorrow. I am SO looking forward to her birthday.
