Betraying my principles
Apr. 5th, 2006 06:42 pmOn Friday after the hospital appointment we went to a few shops in the retail park and Toys R Us had nothing to drink in their babyfood section - they used to have orgnaic fruit juice. So I couldn't drink that. Nowhere else except McDonalds had anything to drink. So we went to McDonalds.
I was pleasantly surprised. They had allergy information on the tray sheets, so it was easy to look up what I could and could not eat. They also had salt, sugar and fat content info on those sheets. We ended up eating there, because it was Linnea's dinner time. She had fish fingers and fries and carrot sticks and water. I tried to eat them but most of it was too gross. So they haven't improved the flavour, but the contents don't seem to be as bad as they used to be, and the apple pie things were hot and sweet, which stopped my peculiar fainting feeling.
I can't see us ever deciding to go there, and I still have a problem with their ethics, but it's nice to know what if we're ever again stuck in an airport where that's the only option, I can feed Linnea, even if I can't stomach the stuff.
Of course, the food wasn't nutritious enough to fill Linnea up; she could have eaten another one by the time we got home. Luckily that wasn't necessary.
