There's a radio station here that never takes requests (their slogan is 'we play what we want'), and I was thinking a really cool fundraiser for them would be to play totally crappy music and have people make donations for them to change the song. :)

That was the last song I heard before seeing this entry. (They were playing it in the convenience store. I just got home and we stopped there because [livejournal.com profile] okoshun wanted milk.)

There's a bar in Toronto that once had a marathon where you had to sign up to stay there for six hours of just "Ace of Spades," (by Motorhead) on repeat, and people pledged money. It was a fundraiser, although I can't recall for what offhand.

Thanks for that! I followed a link, and found the original German lyrics, with a direct translation, and the English ones. I'd never managed to pick out all the words before, so hadn't really understood the song.
