Babies Can Learn Words as Early as 10 Months.

In other news, parents generally think babies are cute, kittens have teeny tiny reeeeally sharp lickle clawses, and teaching people stuff they are bored by is harder than teaching people stuff they are interested in.

When I see studies that spent millions of dollars/pounds to conclude the Blindingly Obvious, I always wish someone would give me millions of dollars to make grand pronouncements. I could tell them the same thing! What a savings!!

My favourite Scientific Discovery was the astonishing news that size 16 women who exercise regularly and eat healthily have better levels of fitness than size 10 women who live on chips and never move. No, really?

Deaf babies who are raised with sign from their first days (and hearing kids from families that use true sign language all of the time, i.e. Deaf families) start signing at five or six months of age, and I've known that for years. (Baby sign, eh, I can take it or leave it. This is more about language than off and on signing.)

Jack knows a few signs but never really took to it. We didn't put all that much effort into it, I suppose. We can understand what he's saying most of the time now so it's become moot.

Yeah, but remember

We know nothing, are totally subjective, brainless anecdotal irrelevancies to those who run 'Proper Scientific Tests'
GARN!

Yet they seem to have left out an obvious conclusion - 10 month babies don't understand pointing.
