that's one of the reasons behind some parents teaching that the body is *their's* until 16 y/o. Myself I'm not sure which is better: the tantrums we got from Adam or my I'm going to do as I please.

That was what our mum said to me all my life. I think Cat has managed to avoid that somewhat by being brought up by our dad instead. He has a much more sensible attitude :)

Oh, we've been doing that for a while. It's not a problem so far. Though the socks aren't always on *straight* and they don't always look *comfortable*. The buckles on the shoes tend not to be done properly either.

Jonnie undressed himself (with a little assistance) the other day - he was determined to do it. It was only when he had taken his trousers off I realised why he wanted his clothes off *hold nose* but he wouldn't put them back on again after the necessary nappy change. No way.

We're rarely in a hurry to go anywhere, fortunately. I put them on his head when he's not ready to wear them. He'll run around with the funny hat on until his butt gets cold, and he wants his pants instead.

I felt absolutely terrible forcing Leif to take a shower this morning, both because of the bodily ownership issues and because I don't want to turn him further off bathing than he already is.

But he was getting sooooo grubby...
