ailbhe: (out with linnea)
[personal profile] ailbhe

Rucksack: Clothes for Ailbhe and Linnea for two weeks, including Ailbhe's bras for four days. Surely I should have more bras than that. Also, swimsuits and - the bulky bit - Linnea's swimming floaty vest thing.

Rucksack's top pocket: Toothbrushes, toothpastes, shampoo, CD player, CDs, CD player power supply, phone charger.

Nappy bag (messenger bag style): 1 litre flask, lunchbox, nappy changing kit with six nappies, change of clothes for Linnea, Ailbhe's pregnancy notes, 4 copies of BBW, mini first aid kit, wallet, card wallet, chocolate, cereal bars, packets of tissues, baby cutlery, other mumsy stuff.

Linnea's rucksack (which can easily be strapped to the buggy or the big rucksack if she tires of carrying it): Wellies and rainsuit

Linnea's travel toy thing that is a bag and folds out to hang on the back of the seat in front on trains, planes etc: Teaset, sketch pad, pencil case, two books, small plastic figures of mother, baby in a sling, and a giraffe, sunglasses, Fimbles magazine with pair-matching game attached.

Strapped to the buggy: Cosytoes, Linnea's drinking cup, travel wallet with tickets etc for easy access.

Stuff not anywhere yet: Books. Oh dear. Hats, gloves, scarf. Well, they can go in the net bag on the buggy. Euros. With any luck there'll be an ATM at the ferry terminal in Dun Laoghaire.

So now all I need to do is get Linnea to sleep, have a shower, and decide how much I really NEED to bring books.

Not sure about the ferry terminal, but the nearest is on the boulevard just across the road with Kaffe Moca. So not too far away at all.

We actually have a book now. We got it for Christmas. Not quite sure what to do with it, but you're welcome to have a go if you like...

When Kate was a baby & we took lots & lots of stuff before my parents got duplicates of everything, I got around the book problem by using my old library card once I got there & taking out library books.

Now, I take light-weight bookcrossing books & wild release them after I've read them on holiday.

Enjoy the break :)
