ailbhe: (baby)

Since shortly before 7:30 am we have had a little guest. Baby Iz is here. Her mother, you see, is busy. So's her father. They are in hospital working on Baby Iz's Baby Sib. They called about 6 am, Rob went over to wait for Iz to wake up, and brought her home for breakfast.

Linnea woke about 6:20, having gone to sleep at 12:45, and started demanding paints about 7:15. She got some after breakfast. I am sniffling and tired, having spent the night having the kind of dreams that mean I spent ten minutes this morning lying in bed in the dark persuading myself that it was INSANE to think that Linnea was lying stabbed in her bed, blood soaked into the mattress, multiple wide, deep wounds on her torso partially hidden by her pyjamas which have pictures of diggers and tractors on them.

I was incredibly pleased when she woke up and called "Meemee, Meemee coming now!"

We could take Iz to nursery later, but I think we won't, because Linnea is easier to look after with company, and Iz is a pleasure, and anyway, why take her to nursery when we're here?

Later we will go and buy fabric conditioner. Ecover apparently make some. From the sublime to the mundane.

(Iz's mummy is going to be fine, right? LOTS of people have babies and are fine, right? She's bound to be fine, right? Someone, please don't let me talk to expectant mothers EVER AGAIN because god, I am NOT the most cheerful or inspiring.)

I'm fine, so yes, she'll be fine :)

I'm going to replace our tesco cleaning stuff with ecover as & when it runs out. I've got ecover non-bio washing powder & it washes just as well as the tesco non-bio. I may have to buy it online as we only have a small local tesco, so it only does washing powder (bio & non-bio) & washing up liquid with camomile in, which I'm allergic to.

some health food shops sell ecover if you take your own bottle to refill - do check out the price, tho - the one near us is unacceptably more expensive than the supermarket. ie, a litre for more than the price of litre and a half at the dreaded Tesco.

and yes
Iz's mum and sib will be fine
I know what you mean about talking to pregnant women - I didn't ought to be allowed to, either, sometimes.
I have been there with the horror dreams, too; thankfully, as my mental stress lessened, and my sleep improved, they almost disappeared. Sometimes I have ordinary dreams that are so realistic I am surprised. eg, one day I went to get in my car, only to be astonished that it wasnt a red mini. I have NEVER had a red mini, neither would I want one, but I knew I had one. It took me a while to realise that I'd dreamed this car! odd, or what!

RE: realistic dreams - I remember being told about the dream you has where the grass kept weasels. It had something similar to a boat in it aas well. You've always had a really powerful imagination, which leads to vivid dreams. Now though, instead of random images, you've got a focus for your subconscious.

You knew all this already of course, for you are intelligent and well read.

Lots of people do have babies and are fine, and Iz's mummy has very good odds of being one of them.

Ecover do indeed make fabric conditioner, and I rather like it. It does the job without smelling overly chemical.
