We sent a couple of big boxes and a bag of stuff to the charity shop today. Then we went into the attic and sorted out a stack of stuff for Freecycle, the charity shop, and the bin. Rob has realised he needs me to organise the attic for him because he can't figure out how to use the space. We've at least managed to get all the old baby stuff in one area, and all the luggage in another area. Next is shuffling storage units around until we can see them all.
I've also started going through the clothes I put away after I got pregnant, and I have realised that Linnea changed me forever and I will never be a size 8 top again. Size 10 it is from now on, if not more. A huge number of old bras went to the charity shop, in particular.
In other news: Our towels are coming out of the wash harder and scratchier than ever before. What on earth are we doing wrong?

Date: 2006-01-16 11:23 pm (UTC)That's usually caused by using too much detergent. I use half of what the maker recommends, and I don't use fabric softner on my towels, and they come out clean and soft.
Take a washcloth or small hand towel and rinse and wring it out in cold water. If you get suds, you're using too much detergent.

This should make things so much easier in the long run. Funny about the size change - for me it was my hips that stayed wider. Yeah, ok, they've got wider again since then, but that has more to do with chocolate than babies.
Congrats on the declutter - I'll have to see about hiring you to come to do mine...

Date: 2006-01-17 03:00 pm (UTC)In other news, my ribcage seems to have stayed "spread out" and my liver seems to stick out a LOT more than pre-baby. I've never been svelte, but now I'm downright boxy.
