Bed, book, climbing frame, curry
Jan. 13th, 2006 08:30 pmI spent a chunk of the mid-afternoon in bed. Rob took Linnea out and I napped. Iam a changed woman. Linnea's 7-hours-a-night sleep pattern (11:30 - 6:30) has been driving us both crazy, but if she settles into it I daresay we shall grow accustomed. It's harder on Rob, in some ways, because he prefers 8-9 hours sleep a night. However, he is always able to nap in the day or early evening, so he's managing. I can only nap if I'm on the verge of collapse (and people wonder why Linnea sleeps so little!)
Rob also took Linnea to the doctor because she still has molluscs. Apparently the infection can take up to two years to pass, so we needn't worry that she still has them.
Then we all went to the library and I found that two books I thought had been returned are listed as still out. I have to ransack the house for them now, but I strongly suspect they have been returned, and just not checked in properly. It happens occasionally, and we did return some books to the bigy, busy central library, instead of the small, often almost empty branch library.
However, I found a couple of "new" Isabel Allendes in the teenagers section, so that was good.
We went home via Sweet Masala, where I got masala tea, Rob got a paneer samosa, and Linnea got mango juice. Then via the playground, where Linnea climbed and swung (I want to say "swang") and went on the peculiar standing-up seesaw with me. She's so much bigger and more grown up all the time - she now swings on the big-girl swings quite happily, though she jumped off and surprised herself because the swing kept swinging.
And we met friends in the park and then went to their house and played with toys with batteries and a fantastic shopping trolley, and then eventually we went home.
And Rob cooked Pat Kight's Potato and Chickpea Curry and we ate it and it was lovely.
If Linnea was underslept, she would not be cheerful, full of energy, and totally able to concentrate, would she?
