So the shoes I bought for Linnea on April 7th are definitely too small now - she was, at that time, a size 4.5G fitting, and so we bought size 5F because no-one makes shoes in a G fitting if they can possibly avoid it. Certainly not sandals. Now she's a size 5G on one side and a 5H on the other - no-one makes size H at all, according to the many shoe-shops I visited today.

So summer's shoe theme is Red. She has red sandals and red wellies. She's really very very good in shoe-shops, apart from running away a lot, and she didn't scream or howl or kick anyone even once. Also, 9 weeks is pretty good going for a pair of baby shoes, really; 6-8 weeks isn't unusual. It's still going to be a major expense for the next n years.

I also bought her a body-covering swimsuit with factor 40 sun protection, because I really, really don't want to cope with a sunburned baby at all this summer. And a flotation vest, because I don't want to cope with her in the sea without one. My arms already ache a lot from chasing her and catching her and rescuing her. I could try quashing her instead, but it wouldn't be as much fun and I'm sure it would be wrong.

Rhyme Time at the library was good this morning - she danced on her own to a lot of the songs, since neither she nor I know the actions to most of them, and she stayed perfectly happy the whole time.

I'm seriously considering moving on to waterproof training pants instead of regular nappies. She's just getting too big. I'll have her weighed on Tuesday to see how much too big.

i just wanted to say how happy i am to see so many cheerful posts from you in a row. it seems like things are looking up. i know that everything isn't 100% better, maybe not even close, but it's so nice and makes me so happy for you, and Rob, and Linnea, when you have multiple cheerful posts.

:)
