Today we are mostly eatin'. . .

Rice!

Yesterday it was olives. She refused her dinner yesterday and demanded olives instead. Weird. However, they seemed to be fairly healthy, though I dunno about vinegar, and she enjoyed them. A lot. I must try her on mushrooms sometime - neither Rob nor I like them, but she might.

Today I am also very unwell. It was a struggle to get out of bed three hours after waking up. At that point I couldn't speak. At irregular intervals throughout the day I have been unable to speak. The problems seems to be a combination of lack of air for powering my voice, and my whole airway feeling dried out, where before it felt full of gunge. Now I'm still coughing up gunge, but I feel dried out. I shall soon have a shower and hope that helps. Big mugs of steaming peppermint tea help, but how many of those can one have while in charge of a toddler?

I hate my new antibiotics. It's a lower dose than the last lot, but it's making me feel much worse. Well, not really - the others made me so ill I didn't know how I felt, much, I just stayed in bed sweating a lot. With these, I'm mostly mobile, and safe to care for Linnea, but I feel wretched. Food is unappealing, for the most part, and breathing is almost impossible at times. I spent some time today in the recovery position after changing a nappy - the lowest-energy way to keep Linnea still was to sing to her. Singing takes air. Uh-oh.

The washing machine repairman is back! Tomorrow morning, anyway. The machine is stopping mid-cycle and needs to be restarted manually. Also, we have a Visitor From Overseas coming, which would be more exciting if we lived somewhere bigger than Great Britain, but it's pretty exciting anyway. He lives somewhere sunny, so will probably have a tan, and the last time he saw Linnea she was sucking her thumb in an ultrasound picture. She's a bit bigger now.
