Judging by how well my sick-leave replacement is coping, I am very good at my job and highly responsible and efficient and me getting sick makes things impossible.

Hmmm - being indispensible is over-rated, IMO. ;-) Hope this doesn't mean they are saving stuff until you get back.

Same here. Have just done last night's routines as Andy couldn't combine them with looking after Kate when I had an early night.

We split looking after YoungBloke if he's poorly. Last time it was oldbloke's turn he picked me up after work and said, "I didn't realise he was so time-consuming. I didn't get anything done!"...

I've just started reading What Mothers Do (especially when it looks like nothing) by Naomi Stadlen. I keep having to put it down so I can gesture emphatically as I exclaim, "Yes, exactly!" It reminds me of what you've been saying recently about motherhood ecksetra.

Gosh, I wasn't aware I'd been saying much about motherhood ecksetra, except for feeling underpaid and overworked, ecksetra.

However, I now want that book! I love reading books where I agree righteously with every second page or so. "Eats, Shoots and Leaves" was nice like that.
