It's six years since Rob and I agreed that we would make good family.
It's almost a year since we really got to work on that.
It's amazing how little we've done in such a long time, and how much we've done in such a short time.
Other than that, I'm doing better. Various stresses have been reduced and triggers are being coped with.
Today we bought Rob some new trousers - hiking trousers, because plain ones don't have the endurance to have their pockets filled with Essential Kit, and Rob can't live without his Essential Kit. They also double as shorts, cunningly, so we'll see how that goes. It is a lot easier to buy clothes in a hiking shop than in a clothes shop. The brain-melt effect is greatly reduced.
I'm pruning my friends list based on arbitrary criteria.

Date: 2005-04-10 10:12 pm (UTC)We have only recently decided to start a family and are now looking around for a new house with room enough to take in the expansion.
We are terrible for making plans and being slow going with them, the amount of meets I actually make it to are a perfect example.
Then again we are regularily spontaneous in silly ways. Today we booked tickets for a London show because it is the last night of the regular cast ... only to find there is no space in local hotels!!!
The last train is at 22.10 of course ... meaning we *have* to find somewhere ... but we don't care ... there is something fun about the spontaniety.
Because Martine and I work damn hard we don't worry too much about if we don't make lots of plans or even keep to those that we do. We just accept that we have busy jobs ... and that soon we will have to slow down.
But I can really understand where you are coming from, and you are still ahead of us :-)

Date: 2005-04-11 06:00 am (UTC)We had talked in depth before we started dating & knew that both of us wanted a family, so that was always part of the game plan too for us.
