What to expect this month:

You're kidding, right? Expect? How long have you been a parent? After the first week you should have realised that you are way, way out of your depth here, and if you can keep afloat here and now, that's all you should expect of yourself. Stick with what you know.

Toddling might explain the temper tantrums, though. And you'd better come up with a way of dealing with people who get your back up by saying that she's not very bright is she because at that stage (toddling) their friend's neighbour's baby was able to (talk, feed themselves, hang-glide, solve the Times crossword - pick one).

What to expect next month:

Talking, feeding herself, hang-gliding, solving the Times crossword, herding pigs in the corner of the bedroom and adopting stray crocodiles. They're going to be sleeping in your bed, too, so buy a waterproof sheet.

If Linnea hasn't done something that some other random kid did, it's because she thinks it's beneath her, or because she was concentrating on something far more important.

Linnea doesn't solve the Times crossword because it's too easy. She's far too busy thinking about quantum physics these days. And being a muse for the Mammy is a full-time job.

I want a stray crocodile!
Can I have one of hers if she gets a spare?

Big as she is, she's probably not as big as me yet, so ok.
Unless she has herded a pig army onto her side. Then I give up.

THANK YOU for that middle paragraph. My one-year-old toddles fine, and says very little (occasionally "up" and frequently "NONONONONONONONO!!!") and I get more flak about why she isn't talking yet... she's barely one! Give me a break!

And yes, it does explainthe temper, especially since she gets frustrated at not being able to balance as perfectly or climb as effectively as she wants to. Yours might too.
