Career choices and hairy legs

The one thing I've really, really hated in all my previous jobs has been having responsibility without control. In some of my jobs, this angered or stressed me so much that I got sick.
So I became a parent.
Oops.
In other news, I was recently involved in a discussion with a woman about feminism (because I am rarely in those with men) and came out of it with a strong urge to shave my legs and armpits. The other party of the second part was of the opinion that discrimination against women no longer exists and that she has never suffered from it, in spite of admitting to a strong wish that she could say "And by the way I'm not like other women - I won't want maternity leave" during job interviews. I was left bewildered and asserted myself by depilating, as you do.
I discovered why Rob has a beard; I asked him to hand me a razor with which to shave (I was in the bath, he was sitting nearby working on a database and drinking tea) and he did, put first put the blade in the wrong way around, in spite of having checked and double-checked that he had the cutting edge in the right place.
