I am, in many many ways, well! The codeine seems to be no longer a problem. The operation I had in December went well, and the stitches are healed. The stuff that's left I can cope with. I'm going to wear trousers tomorrow!

WITHOUT painkillers!

Then I'm going to fish all my old clothes out of the attic and triage them. Must remember to keep some things in inbetween sizes for later pregnancies. Warm legs! Huzzah!

I'd give myself 10/10 for wellness except that there are a few birth-related inconveniences I have yet to deal with, and some of them are with me for life, but this is great.

And on Monday I met with the nice consultant, who didn't mind that the fact that I saw That Obstetrician while in the waiting area made me have a panic attack, and in fact made a note that I wasn't to have him deal with me in future, and even checked that he wasn't around when I left the counselling room. And she explained a c-section to me in more detail than I've ever heard before, including why so many women labour (no, not intended, sorry, ow) under the delusion that their abdominal muscles have been cut. I can't remember the names of all the layers they do cut, but it doesn't include the abs.

A c-section generally takes less time than it took just to sew me back up after Linnea's birth. This is going to be a total walk in the park!
