She has six teeth, cruises the furniture, can't clap yet, tries hard to stack things but neglects to start off by putting one piece on the floor, eats apple with gusto and potato with tolerance, likes lamb stew and Rob's roasted vegetables, swims, sits, crawls, rolls and says dadadadadadadada. She may or may not be trying to sing; I think she is, but Rob couldn't hear it.

She likes having her toys on a low bookcase; it gives her something to climb to and pull off shelves, and she can decide what to play with, cross the room, and get it. I think tidying up might be the advanced course; I was about 19 before I learned it. She has stopped using her personal signal to me to say she's hungry or thirsty; I'm not sure why, but it could be because I'm using the baby-signing signals and she's confused.

She's up with the 12-month-olds for size, still, except for her feet, which are 18 months old.

She's 6 months and 11 days old.

I'm telling you, start grooming her for world domination now. :)

The toys on bookshelf thing is a new one to me. I'm going to have to remember that. :)

Eek! The baby is pulling all the books off the shelf! So we put a lower bookcase in front of the wall-mounted shelves, secured with hooks and eyes at the top, so that we can get behind it and she can't pull it over. She doesn't seem to miss the books she was pulling out before.

I feel terribly clever, like all those new mums who realise that ou can freeze pre-pureed food in ice-cubes for portion-size defrosting.

Now, see, in all my years of child sitting for my seemingly ever-pregnant cousins, that one never came up.

My mum just rang me, and asked about Linnea, so I read this entry to her over the phone. She knows of a shop that has baby moccasins, so we will try to get out there (it's on a Native reservation) next weekend.

Wow! I think she's got YoungBloke's growth - he's not long moved into 9-12 month clothes, with turn-ups in his trousers. He's 12 months and three weeks!
